The Belfast Giants announced a new partnership with a hard-fought challenge for their players.

Jackson Whistle, Jeff Baum and Tyler Soy beat a strong team of Decathlon staff in a ‘Store Wars’ classic.
The Irish side announced their new partnership with Decathlon, the largest retailer in the world with 2000 stores.
Decathlon operate a store out of Holywood in County Down with more across the Irish sea in mainland Britain.
They aim to provide sports products for everyone and stock equipment for over 70 different sports.
Matthew Ferguson a spokesperson for Decathlon Belfast said of the partnership: “We are proud to be an official partner of the Stena Line Belfast Giants for the 2021/2022 Season. At Decathlon Belfast we look forward to celebrating our passion for sport on and off the ice”.
To launch this partnership the Giants sent three of their players to compete against Decathlon staff in ‘Store Wars’.
The two teams competed on YouTube over three challenges to see who would be victorious.
The Giants went 1-0 up when Whistle beat Eve 2-0 on a shootout challenge.
Decathlon weren’t far behind however when Alex dominated Baum 5-3 in a basketball challenge.
The store-worker landed five from five to put the retailer back on level terms.
In the final challenge, archery, it looked like Decathlon could win until Adam missed his final arrow.
Soy won 22-18 to seal out a 2-1 victory for the Belfast side.
This announcement comes a few days after the Giants revealed their exciting plans for Giants’ fans.
The club are equally excited about this announcement with Head of Hockey operations, Steve Thornton saying: “Having the support of a company like Decathlon Belfast is something we are very proud of.
“It’s a great indicator of our continued growth as a team. We’re excited for this new partnership that will undoubtedly contribute to our success”.
The Giants next face Manchester storm who come off the back of a disappointing 4-1 loss to Dundee Stars.
